About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Machine Operator II, Weekend Shift. The hourly rate for this position is $20.00 per hour. The hours are Friday through Sunday from 5:00 am to 5:00 pm. This role includes a weekend shift premium, providing 40 hours of pay for a 36‑hour schedule. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. What you’ll do: The Machine Operator fabricates steel, aluminum, and cast‑metal components according to blueprint specifications and collaborates effectively with team members to achieve safety, quality, and productivity goals. Contribute to a safe, engaged, and inclusive work environment by following all company policies, properly using personal protective equipment, operating equipment safely, and performing required 5S activities. Interpret travel documents, blueprints, and written or verbal instructions to set up, operate, and perform routine maintenance on various machines, including shears, Finn Power, Prima, horizontal press brakes/benders, and Trumpf lasers. Maintain steady progress on assigned jobs and communicate any delays, concerns, or issues in a timely and appropriate manner. Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and conduct root cause analysis to resolve quality or production issues. Ensure product quality by measuring finished parts using tape measures and/or calipers, visually inspecting materials, identifying nonconforming components, and troubleshooting errors. Cross-train in other functions and provide coverage for additional roles as needed. Ensure machinery is operating properly and assist with troubleshooting equipment issues. Prepare machines for daily operation, including performing proper setup and safety checks.Inspect finished products for defects to ensure they meet all quality standards. Communicate equipment concerns or suggestions for improvements to supervisors or team leads. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Greenwood, SC will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, persuasive abilities, and analytical problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups within a team‑oriented environment.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach at or above shoulder level, grip, and use hands to handle or feel objects and materials.
  • Frequently required to stoop and perform tasks involving lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to or exceeding 50 pounds.
  • Vision requirements include near and far vision, depth perception, and color distinction.
  • Regular exposure to noise while performing job duties.
  • Frequent exposure to dust in the work area.

Nice To Haves

  • Background as a machine operator or completion of a machine operation certificate program.
  • Hands-on experience in sheet metal fabrication, including the use of standard punch and bend tooling and related processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manufacturing diagrams, technical drawings, and operating instructions.
  • Proficient in using measuring tools such as tape measures and calipers.
  • Familiarity with Eaton systems, including DMM and AS‑400.
