This includes lifting, stacking, loading material on to and off of conveyors, material racks and equipment. Material handling is almost always done by a team of 2 people. Must be able to walk backwards. The material is aluminum extrusions that are usually 24 feet long. Weights of extrusions are typically 30 to 60 pounds but can be heavier. Moving dollies (material carts) weighing up to 3,000 pounds to deliver material and stage material for processing. Taping the ends of the material prior to processing. This keeps the polyurethane from leaking until it is cured. This is done standing up, stooping or sitting to reach the lower parts, requires dexterity and speed. Operating an overhead bridge crane to move material racks and separate batches of material. Must be able to set up, operate and adjust all department machinery properly and safely. The equipment includes the Azo-Brader, Fillimeter and Debridger saw. Must be able to operate a forklift and pass the requirement for driver certification Responsible for the general housekeeping of the work area. Other job assignments as required: occasionally running the punch machine or packing. General Working Conditions: The plant is not air-conditioned. The winter temperatures can be close to freezing inside the building some days. Summer temperatures can be as high as 110 degrees inside. The company provides all required PPE. Noise levels around the Debridge saw require hearing protection.
