This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with operating heavy-duty machinery and the ability to produce high-precision parts from various materials. You will be responsible for setting up, monitoring , and maintaining robotic machining work cells and equipment to ensure quality and efficiency in production. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Use of Microsoft office suite applications.
  • Ability using hand tools and precision measuring equipment.
  • CNC Programing: b egin to use conversational on the machine along with some by hand machine code adjustments, and the higher level 2 will begin to learn offline (NX) programming. (minor edits - basic programs)
  • Experience with Siemens controller s preferred.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of experience operating heavy duty CNC machines.
  • Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing or a related field.
  • Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Basic digital literacy, including Windows and Microsoft Office.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Geometric tolerancing (GD&T)
  • 5 years’ experience with CNC Machines.
  • Candidate should have good Spatial Reasoning capabilities, looking for layout and buildup solutions in all projects.
  • Experience with 5S methodology and lean initiatives.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and overhead crane .
  • Technical/trade school training or industry certification.
  • Experience with CNC machinery and software .

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Operate heavy duty CNC machines
  • Work with team members and others using Lean/Continuous Improvement processes to develop and utilize process improvements that positively impact operations by reducing waste, reducing safety risks, and improving quality.
  • Safely work within an industrial environment.
  • Utilize interpersonal and communication techniques, working in a team environment, and dealing with a wide variety of personalities and communication styles.
  • Preparing heavy duty machinery for operations, Loading / off-loading heavy parts into machinery, removing large amounts of metal ships from machines.
  • Operate machinery , milling and p rofile materials per engineering models, blueprints, CAD files, and specifications.
  • Set up and load materials accurately and securely using forklifts and overhead cranes.
  • Maintain all consumables and support waste stream.
  • Monitor and adjust machine parameters; perform routine inspections and maintenance.
  • Measure and inspect finished parts for quality and specification compliance.
  • Troubleshoot, resolve, and escalate equipment or process issues as needed.
  • Meet production schedules and document work activities accurately.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and maintain a safe, organized work environment.
  • Operate additional equipment such as forklifts and overhead cranes.
  • Shift change handovers
