About The Position

The Machine Operator I position at Italian Terrazzo & Tile Co. of Brevard, LLC involves attending multiple machine stations to create a constant production workflow. The operator will learn, understand, and master the variables such as pressure, speed, water quality/volume, and pad sequence of the machine to consistently provide the best quality results.

Requirements

• Prior Machine Operator experience of 1 year preferred.
• Prior experience working with hard surface material preferred.
• Understand technical information and drawings.
• Ability to operate machinery.
• Be able to take measurements and perform calculations.
• Understand mathematical calculations and other numerical data.
• Be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Be methodical and safety conscious.
• Use proper judgment.
• Be able to work on own initiative.
• Teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Unload material from conveyor belts or tables using cranes, vacuum lifts, clamps and hoists.
• Monitor quality of product output and report equipment failures to shop manager.
• Maintain daily, weekly, monthly maintenance and cleaning schedules.
• Learn pad or tooling sequences based on material (species, colors, thickness, edge profile).
• Basic upkeep of machinery.
• Lubricate and grease necessary parts, log, and maintain daily.
• Change out pads and tooling.
• Troubleshoot rudimentary issues.
• Provide feedback to management on pad/tool life, quality, speed, pressure, water volume.
• Understand how variables affect final product.
• Communicate inventory levels to management (pad quantities, etc.).
• Keep to production schedule and maintain shop flow.
• Maintain safe working environment in accordance with OSHA guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned.
