About The Position

Assemble quality tire repairs (patches) from pieces of rubber and fabric by machine and/or by hand.

Requirements

• minimum of one-year prior work experience.
• Able to read limited number of two-and-three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
• Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
• Ability to work in a group setting.
• Ability to follow and understand simple instructions, including read and follow ISO document charts.
• Able to add and subtract and do simple division and multiplication.
• Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one-or-two step instructions.
• Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
• Must be able to work independently, and or with a team, with little supervision (will not give supervision)
• Able to accurately count, add and subtract two-digit numbers, and perform simple division and multiplication.
• Must be able to enter information into a computerized screen (must have some computer skills)
• Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out three step instructions and deal with standardized situations with some process variability.

Nice To Haves

• High school graduate or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Operate machines (i.e. big clicker, Z-5002, Tech 1000 and Tech 1001 cut and lay machine, and bonus maker, etc.). Must be willing to be trained and operate any machine as needed.
• Assemble tire repair patches from rubber and fabric.
• Operate machinery and operate computer on machines
• Lift, mount, and set up rolls of materials on machine spindle(s).
• Keep supplies fed to the machine and assemblers.
• Inspect quality of repair (patch). pull paper off of the cured repair (patches).
• Write and calculate labor ticket(s).
• Follow work orders closely.
• Record labor and inventory accurately.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination is required.
• Clean machines and floor.
• Carry tubs of pressed repairs to their next destination.
• Other duties as assigned.
