About The Position

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Machine Operator I, to join our Carbon Brake Team in Santa Fe Springs California. We create and ship out new carbon for aviation braking systems. In this role, you will learn our carbon manufacturing processes. You will Machine Carbon/Carbon brake disks used on aircraft. You will learn and thrive in a team environment. Position works onsite at our Santa Fe Springs California Facility Shift Schedule: 2nd shift Monday - Friday 2:30pm - 10:30pm

Requirements

Typically a HS Diploma with 2 years of relevant experience is required
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

Experienced in basic computer skills
Some experience in manufacturing industry
Experience with forklifts and/or pallet jacks
Experience setting-up and operating equipment for specific processes

Responsibilities

Adhere to all Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) rules, maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
Implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Work Instructions (WI), and technical drawings meticulously to guarantee consistent quality and safety.
Identify and report any mechanical or safety concerns promptly to prevent disruptions and maintain operational integrity.
Strictly follow written procedures to maintain safety and to ensure quality
Utilize standard measuring instruments and scales to ensure all parts meet specified dimensions and tolerances.
Operate various CNC lathes and mills
Operate multiple machines at one time
Change inserts/tooling out from machine
Using micrometers, calipers, hand measurement techniques
Read technical drawings and set up machines in alignment with blueprints
Apply basic to intermediate computer skills for various tasks, including data entry and process monitoring.
Performs other duties as assigned
