About The Position

The Machine Operator I sets up and operates a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Uses computer-controlled equipment to select, position and secure automatic or semi-automatic machines. Controls and adjusts machine settings to complete simple tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion. This role requires a commitment to safety, efficiency, and precision in all tasks. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Operate various types of machines to produce parts conforming to print requirements, may include basic program adjustments to meet quality and schedule requirements Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures. Can simultaneously operate two or more machines when practical and necessary. Performs basic daily maintenance or checks for machines.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Must read/write/speak English fluently
  • Ability to read and follow work orders, set up data sheets, and measurement instructions
  • Knowledge of hand tools and general inspection tools
  • Detail oriented with good time management and organization skills
  • Proficient in basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to machining processes
  • Must be able to stand, stoop and lift to 40-50lbs

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years’ industrial experience desired in production and quality control methods (ISO9001, AS9100 etc.) desired
  • Previous experience in Lean Manufacturing implementation and production systems desired
  • Computer skills (MS Office) and experience in ERP systems preferred
