About The Position

This position involves assembling quality tire repairs (patches) from pieces of rubber and fabric, utilizing both machines and manual processes. The role is within the Assembly Department and reports to the Assembly Supervisor. It is a non-exempt position with a starting hourly rate of $19.30 plus a $1.75 shift differential.

Requirements

Minimum of one-year prior work experience.
Able to read limited number of two-and-three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
Ability to work in a group setting.
Ability to follow and understand simple instructions, including read and follow ISO document charts.
Able to add and subtract and do simple division and multiplication.
Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one-or-two step instructions.
Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
Must be able to work independently, and or with a team, with little supervision.
Able to accurately count, add and subtract two-digit numbers, and perform simple division and multiplication.
Must be able to enter information into a computerized screen (must have some computer skills).
Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out three step instructions and deal with standardized situations with some process variability.
Safety shoes and safety glasses are required.

Nice To Haves

High school graduate or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate machines (i.e. big clicker, Z-5002, Tech 1000 and Tech 1001 cut and lay machine, and bonus maker, etc.). Must be willing to be trained and operate any machine as needed.
Assemble tire repair patches from rubber and fabric.
Operate machinery and operate computer on machines.
Lift, mount, and set up rolls of materials on machine spindle(s).
Keep supplies fed to the machine and assemblers.
Inspect quality of repair (patch). pull paper off of the cured repair (patches).
Write and calculate labor ticket(s).
Follow work orders closely.
Record labor and inventory accurately.
Excellent hand-eye coordination is required.
Clean machines and floor.
Carry tubs of pressed repairs to their next destination.
Other duties as assigned.
