About The Position

Essential Job Functions 1. Set up and independently operate multi-cut slitting machines with close tolerance specifications for finished product, metal manufacturing machines, semi-automated or automated marker manufacturing equipment. 2. Manage the manufacturing processes associated with the assigned equipment with an emphasis on productivity, quality, safety, and good housekeeping, directing the work of assigned Associates as needed. 3. Maintain continuous machine operation, performing troubleshooting and preventative maintenance, and repair tasks, contacting Supervision if needed. 4. Use print and work instructions to perform machine set up and operate equipment within the set quality standards. 5. Perform training for new hires as assigned. 6. Perform other tasks associated with the manufacturing of items including various packaging, assembly, and finishing tasks. 7. Review job tickets and verify materials are available and used as specified, monitoring and maintaining inventory levels. 8. Manage supplies and materials needed for production on assigned equipment. 9. Use required measuring instruments (scales, micro scales, calipers, and densitometer). 10. Ensure compliance with company safety rules and policies including OSHA and ISO requirements. 11. Communicate and coordinate as necessary with other departments including maintenance, warehouse, quality, etc. 12. Assist in material and finished product movement (hand / fork truck, etc.). 13. Complete required paperwork and quality sign offs. 14. Inspect finished product for any imperfections or irregularities making adjustments as needed. 15. Communicate with other Machine Operators, Associates, Team Leads, and Supervisors on production issues, needs, and recommendations to improve production effectiveness and efficiency, including safety recommendations. 16. Interpret production paperwork for accurate product production and shipment and prepare finished product for shipment. 17. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • GED or High School diploma
  • Minimum 3 years machine operation experience with an emphasis on troubleshooting and machine repair
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work in a constructive, positive manner with others in a team environment
  • Basic reading, math, and direction following skills
  • Mathematical aptitude (measurements)
  • Ability to read blueprints and drawings
  • Ability to use basic measurement instruments
  • Excellent reading comprehension
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proven advanced mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities
  • Ability to troubleshoot and react quickly to operation issues
  • Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and Management
  • Ability to assemble small parts
