About The Position

We are seeking dependable, detail-oriented Machine Operators to join our manufacturing team producing high-quality weatherstripping and specialty products used worldwide. This role is ideal for individuals who value consistency, take pride in their work, and are looking to build a long-term career in manufacturing—not just a short-term job. Our machine operators are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of equipment and processes utilized in the production of quality weather stripping/specialty products for our customers. Machine Operator I works closely and communicates with the technicians, supervisors, and other personnel as necessary to maintain continuous operation of the equipment and processes. Upon successful completion of machine operator training, the operator's primary responsibility is to keep the machines accurately running. Upon learning advanced skills, will assist technicians to solve and troubleshoot issues, change over, and or equipment repairs.

  • Willingness to work at a steady pace in a production environment
  • Understanding the importance of attendance, safety, and quality
  • Taking ownership of work and following procedures consistently
  • Ability to apply learned skills from hands-on training
  • Must be able to read, understand, and successfully follow all requirements of safety, standard work/work instructions, and key quality metrics

Nice To Haves

  • Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience
  • High School diploma, GED, or TASC

Responsibilities

  • Operating and monitoring production equipment used to manufacture weatherstripping
  • Loading materials and removing finished products
  • Making basic machine adjustments as trained
  • Following all safety, quality, and production standards
  • Recording basic production and quality data
  • Assisting with machine changeovers and line support
  • Following all safety work practices as outlined in standard work procedures
  • Supporting plant or departmental safety initiatives
  • Performing all quality inspections in accordance with standard work instructions
  • Ensuring product is within specification tolerances
  • Completing inspection audit sheet or charting requirements
  • Informing technician of quality issues on the production line
  • Following standard work for light priorities
  • Setting up and recalibrating production equipment according to GMPs and SOPs
  • Notifying area technician of issues with the production lines to ensure prompt resolution
  • Replenishing raw material supply on machines
  • Removing finished product
  • Making minor adjustments to machines
  • Performing minor repairs
  • Recording problems, time and reason machine is out of operation, time when the machine is back online, repairs needed to machine, and amount and reason for scrap
  • Performing other duties as assigned
