About The Position

The Perforator Machine Operator is responsible for operating perforator machinery in a safe and efficient manner to produce parts that meet or exceed customer expectations. The employee may perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Tow Motor Certification.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Employees are required to occasionally lift and carry 50 lbs.
  • Employees will occasionally use a pallet jack to push or pull objects up to 60 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Positions workpiece against fixtures or stops on machine bed or on die.
  • Keeps machines loaded by threading plastic sheet from roll stock through pinch rollers.
  • Starts press/sheeter and observes operation to detect misalignment or malfunction.
  • Inspects workpieces for conformance to specifications and adjusts machine to correct errors.
  • Cleans and lubricates machines.
  • Maintain department housekeeping and 5S program requirements.
  • Track and input daily production information in computer ship floor data collection system to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Follow Good Documentation Practices rules in alignment with QMS/EMS requirements.
  • Operate the Perforator roll rewinder and scrap grinder as needed.
  • Operate the core cutting machine as needed.
  • Interpret the production schedule and identify production machinery priorities based on customer demand.
  • Communicate effectively with other shifts regarding machine, quality, and priority concerns.
  • Input MPulse maintenance and tooling requests as needed.
  • Review calibration status of devices used to measure product conformity.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Perform all work procedures according to established Quality Management Environmental Management Systems.
  • Perform job responsibilities and tasks in compliance with Company policies, procedures, and safety and environmental regulations.
