About The Position

The position involves operating various machines in the production line, including the Spicer and Glass De-palletizer, Labeler/Tamper Evident Seal Applicator, Capper, Solbern/Niko Operation, Bucket Line, and Case packer/Shrink wrapper. Responsibilities include controlling the starting and stopping of machines, maintaining cleanliness, ensuring proper flow of products, and following safety and GMP rules. Operators must recognize and report mechanical issues, perform routine checks, and maintain the quality of the products being processed. The work environment may involve exposure to moving parts, glass, and varying temperatures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to communicate in English and/or Spanish (written, orally, and reading).
  • Must be able to operate all production machines.
  • Certification through the Claussen training program.

Responsibilities

  • Control the starting and stopping of the Spicer and Glass De-palletizer.
  • Un-jam machine or box conveyor when necessary.
  • Check jar blower equipment every 2 hours for proper air flow.
  • Initiate hand glass dump when mechanical problems arise.
  • Fill spice hoppers with appropriate spice or garlic.
  • Keep work area clean and wash jars returned to them.
  • Maintain proper flow of jars to pack area and check spice levels in jars.
  • Control starting and stopping of labeler and tamper evident seal applicator.
  • Supply and maintain labels and film rolls in the respective machines.
  • Assure proper glue flow and control flow of finished product.
  • Unjam and clean glue heads and tamper evident seal mandrill.
  • Control stopping and starting of capper and supply caps.
  • Assure closure of caps to jars and perform routine calibration tasks.
  • Control the starting and stopping of the Solbern/Niko machine.
  • Assure proper fill of jars and check for broken jars.
  • Set up the bulk line and control the starting and stopping of the bulk line.
  • Code date lids for buckets and assure proper fill and closure.
  • Control the starting and stopping of the case packer/shrink wrapper.
  • Rework bad jars as needed and keep area clean.
