Requirements

  • High school, college education or training in vocational schools.
  • Two-years’ experience operating CNC equipment.
  • Conversant with CNC operation and proficient in computer knowledge.
  • Related on-the-job experience, Stone industry preferred.
  • Ability to read and use linear and other measuring devices.
  • Ability to use basic mathematics.
  • Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards.
  • Familiar with the safe operation of various tools: including but not limited to drills, screw gun, table saw, band saw and routers.

Responsibilities

  • Loads parts in machine, cycles machine, detects malfunctions in machine operations such as worn or damaged cutting tools.
  • Communicate with co-workers regarding productions runs, and maintains safe, organized, and clean work environment.
  • Operating industrial machinery, which can include a hydraulic press, grinder, borer, or overhead crane.
  • Fitting the right tools to active machines.
  • Performing proper set-up and calibration procedures for all equipment and accessories.
  • Setting tolerance levels and cutting speeds.
  • Translates the requirements of detailed part drawings into measurements for production.
  • Inspecting workflows to ensure that technical and quality standards are met.
  • Devising a work plan to efficiently carry out daily machining.
  • Set up and operating a CNC machine by maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records, maintaining equipment and supplies.
