About The Position

Responsible for operation and proficient understanding of downstream machinery nd related equipment safely and efficiently. Troubleshoot issues to maintain operation efficiency and quality. Record production data and communicate with coworkers to ensure smooth production flow and respond to schedule changes. Operation of downstream machines involves performing short-cycle, repetitive, and control functions in set patterns to attain high-quality production output that meets or exceeds customer expectations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English.
  • Ability to recognize and understand numbers and values and enter this information into an on-line database accurately.
  • Ability to visually distinguish fine variations in color and other visual defects.
  • Proficient hand/eye coordination to operate equipment.
  • Ability to visually and mentally make priority decisions and independent judgment calls based on the situation at hand.
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively use a computer and related software.
  • Ability to work all shifts and required overtime.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains standard production objectives through proper machine operation and accurately records production.
  • Communicates production information at shift change.
  • Knows and practices safe and proper start-up and shut-down procedures for each machine.
  • Set up and operate bulk palletizer, boxmaker, lantech, casepacker, case insert, Vongal, and related equipment.
  • Operate downstream machines and communicate issues promptly.
  • Perform daily operator checks and hourly visual checks, identify and communicate quality issues, and assist with quality containment.
  • Complete process sheets, and daily operator checks.
  • Report downtime events (white boards) and verify accurate production information.
  • Count and record corrugated scrap.
  • Use systems to view schedules and understand product runs and tooling changes.
  • Conduct data entry to enter quality logs into RealSPC.
  • MII for ticket and production schedule to ensure correct product is being processed.
  • Maintains housekeeping of all assigned areas. This includes applying Good Manufacturing Practices to meet plant goals.
  • Reports daily production scrap in computer system.
  • Follows all Amcor established safety rules and guidelines and as trained during the various safety-related training programs.
  • Understands and communicates all hazards and safety issues to co-workers and managers/supervisors.
  • Properly uses all personal protective equipment.
  • Performs other related duties as directed by the Production Supervisor.
