The Machine Operator I position at Florence Corporation involves operating various machines within the manufacturing department, with a focus on safety and operational flexibility.   • Participate in problem solving as directed and recommend ideas for continual improvement.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Attend and constructively participate in safety meetings and safety training.
  • Actively promote safety and wear proper PPE.
  • Report injuries to supervisor immediately.
  • Cooperate with fellow employees and supervisor.
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with other work groups, both within and outside of his/her department.
  • Help other coworkers learn their job.
  • Keep area clean and free from excess clutter to ensure a smooth operation and desirable work conditions.
  • Understand and demonstrate performance in managing component parts associated with the job including accounting for use, scrap, rework of material as well as identification, proper storage and care.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • One-year of previous experience in a sheet metal or machine shop environment preferred.
  • Good work record in previous employment.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written work instructions and read and follow prints and routers.
  • The ability to understand quality requirements and to monitor production.
  • Possess basic math skills.
  • Ability to safely and effectively operate various pieces of equipment.
  • Ability to learn new operations, become cross-trained, and rotate jobs.
  • Must not have above 3.5 attendance points.
