About The Position

Come join our team at Medline ReNewal in Redmond, Oregon! Be a part of the nation's largest privately held medical manufacturing company, within the fastest growing division! ReNewal takes used medical products from hospitals all over the country to be reprocessed and sent back out to be reused. Each year we divert over a million pounds of waste from landfills! We are now hiring for a Machine Operator! A Machine Operator is responsible for the initial sorting, photographing, decontaminating and drying of all invasive medical devices in the Redmond, Oregon facility. All work performed must comply with Medline ReNewal’s standard operating procedures as well as FDA guidelines to ensure patient safety. Decontamination Technicians must be able to work with strong smells (chemicals, body fluids) while handling contamination and/or sharp surgical instruments.

Requirements

  • Must be able to communicate in basic English with management and co-workers
  • Must be able to use a computer to locate information and print reports
  • Stand for 8 hour shift with appropriate meal and rest breaks
  • Work in a room with sinks, racks, tables, and limited room for movement
  • Work in a room with continuous moderate to high level of noise, humidity, and moisture
  • Lift, push, or pull batches of devices averaging 45 lbs up to 10 times a day
  • Perform repetitive tasks, some of which are small motion tasks through the entire shift
  • Able to focus and work safely with sharp contaminated devices at a fast pace

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Any prior experience in a manufacturing role is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Receive containers of devices from receiving team and confirm all necessary paperwork present
  • Sort each bin of incoming contaminated devices by device type in a safe manner
  • Document devices received and forward to appropriate decontamination area or reject if it is a device that is not eligible for reprocessing
  • Take appropriate steps to decontaminate devices which may include using chemical soaks, loading devices into baskets for ultrasonic baths, steam cleaning, scrubbing devices, and drying cleaned devices using compressed air
  • Confirm devices are kept separate according to documentation and/or organizational system
  • Verify that devices being sent to next production area match documentation and paper records, sign off on documents
  • Assist other departments as needed to ensure production output meets or exceeds goals
  • Other duties as assigned
