About The Position

The Machine Operator is responsible for the operation of all equipment associated with the production of dry ice from CO2. This role involves managing production, ensuring regulatory compliance, handling inventory, and overseeing shipping. The Machine Operator will also be responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining the dry ice equipment as needed, and may assist Maintenance Technicians with more technical or complex maintenance procedures. Team members in this position are required to maintain knowledge of the process flow, computerized equipment, and be aware of hazards associated with the process, as well as understand and execute standard operating procedures. Continuous plant operation requires 12-hour shift work, and Machine Operators must be able to adapt to these hours and meet call-in requirements as needed. This is an on-site role.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Use your knowledge to safely and efficiently operate the dry ice plant.
  • Operate dry ice pelletizer, forklifts, pallet jacks, and sanitation equipment and chemicals.
  • Keep the dry ice building and equipment clean inside and outside.
  • Perform and document maintenance and repairs of equipment.
  • Prepare shipping and other documents as required.
  • Operate computers for both production and administrative tasks.
  • Follow plant procedures for start-up and shutdown.
  • Maintain accurate and timely logs.
  • Foster a culture of safe behavior and environmental compliance at all times.
  • Maintain a team environment at all times and champion POET in the community.
  • Maintain and advance the food safety and quality of POET’s products and processes to deliver a best-in-class culture of quality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
