About The Position

Samtec, Inc. is seeking a DAY Shift MACHINE OPERATOR with some similar manufacturing experience. This position is located in our Wilsonville, OR cable plant, with shifts set at 12 hours, 3 days per week from 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Thursday-Friday-Saturday). The associate may train on a different shift/schedule for a month prior to transferring to the regular schedule. Flexibility is important. On-the-job training is provided, along with an annual bonus and a people-centric culture. The pay starts at $22.00/hr and includes full benefits such as a 5% 401(k) match and 7% profit sharing contribution, paid holidays, vacation/PTO, healthcare, dental, vision, and tuition assistance for engineering degrees.

Requirements

• Good computer entry skills with attention to detail.
• Good manual dexterity.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to read and understand job specifications, schematics, shop orders, and operating instructions.
• Perform basic math calculations and basic statistics interpretation.
• Identify basic functional problems and take corrective action.
• Interface with supervisors and engineers to solve problems.
• Experience with cable manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Set up and run jobs for customer orders.
• Maintain a high level of quality and on-time delivery standards.
• Manage job inventory per established methods and procedures.
• Complete and maintain the required paperwork.
• Enter Maintenance Requests on a computer when machine issues are identified.
• Follow approved processes related to tooling, process sheets, prints, work instructions, and shop order packets.
• Troubleshoot quality problems.
• Work with high temperature machine/parts up to 1000˚F.
• Understand and follow all safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
