About The Position

The Machine Operator – Compression Molding is responsible for safely performing a wide range of production activities across blending, cold press, hot press, ram, and secondary operations. This role ensures adherence to safety standards, production schedules, and quality requirements while supporting continuous improvement and team-based operational goals.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with strong reading, writing, math, and comprehension skills.
  • Ability to read and understand MSDS sheets, SOPs, and JSAs.
  • Experience with computer-controlled systems and the ability to operate automated equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
  • Proficiency in using measurement tools such as scales, tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Knowledge of machinery and tooling, including operation, repair, and basic maintenance.
  • Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification quickly.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and the “injury-free” work environment.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting, standing for extended periods, and repetitive motion.
  • Capability to safely handle materials and operate industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately complete and maintain all required documentation (written and electronic).
  • Operate compression molding equipment safely in accordance with SOPs and JSAs.
  • Meet production schedules while maintaining high-quality standards for blends and molded products.
  • Clean, inspect, mark, and prepare tooling for production use.
  • Read and interpret run sheets and order packets; secure required materials and equipment for each production run, including performing cycle counts as needed.
  • Perform inspection, post-production finishing, and proper handling/movement of products.
  • Identify production issues and contribute to problem-solving and implementation of solutions.
  • Initiate and support activities to minimize downtime and improve product quality.
  • Participate in Stable Operations (Stable Ops) and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively during shift handoffs and through production logs.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve shared production and operational goals.
  • Maintain a customer-focused mindset in all tasks and responsibilities.
  • Perform 6S activities and basic preventative maintenance to sustain equipment and work areas.
  • Uphold company core values, including safety, margin improvement, and knowledge sharing, while meeting Quality of Service (QOS) targets.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
