The Cabler Operator is responsible for setting up, running, and monitoring cabling equipment used in the manufacture of fiber optic cable, specifically for cables ranging from 36” to 64”. This role requires a keen understanding of the production process, as the operator must read setup sheets and utilize product codes to determine the necessary machine adjustments and material requirements. The operator will be tasked with ensuring that the cabling lines for all standard products are set up and run efficiently, while also managing a re-spooling machine to handle fillers as needed. In addition to operating machinery, the Cabler Operator must observe, measure, and inspect products at various stages of production to ensure compliance with specifications outlined in the setup sheets. This includes completing all necessary documentation accurately and maintaining cleanliness of the equipment to prevent contamination. The operator is expected to recognize defects and problems during production, assisting in problem-solving or notifying a supervisor when necessary. All activities must be conducted in accordance with established safety procedures and guidelines. The role also emphasizes the importance of service excellence and quality, requiring the operator to build strong relationships with customers and team members, communicate respectfully, and demonstrate compassion in response to customer needs.
