About The Position

The Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining fabrication equipment to produce high-quality parts and components according to customer specifications. This role involves reading blueprints, setting up equipment, monitoring production, and ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment preferred.
  • Basic competency with power hand-tools (drill, grinder, bench, grinder, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of mechanical operations and measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Operate metal fabrication equipment (presses, lathes, cutters, etc.).
  • Set up machines according to job specifications, including selecting tools, adjusting settings, and verifying material dimensions.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings.
  • Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality and dimensional standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines and work areas.
  • Report any mechanical issues, safety hazards, or material shortages to supervisors.
  • Follow all company safety policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Crosstrain on various machines in the department and plant
  • Assist with material handling, loading/unloading, and packaging as needed.
  • Operate forklifts, stand-up lifts, and overhead cranes.
