About The Position

Wheatland Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries is seeking a machine operator for our Blytheville, AR facility. The position is for the 2nd Shift from 4:00 PM to 2:00 AM.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s or Technical School Diploma preferred.
• Previous mill operation/machine operator experience strongly preferred.
• Tube mill manufacturing experience strongly preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience with measuring devices (tape measures, micrometers, calipers etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safe and continuous operation of all machinery, and report unsafe conditions.
• Monitor and control aspects of the mill manufacturing process, including loading coil, operating equipment, and completing quality control checks throughout.
• Ensure equipment remains in proper operating condition.
• Perform all size, gauge, grade, and shape changes on the production line for assigned tube and pipe mill.
• Inspect tooling condition at the end of each rolling and communicate the need for reconditioning.
• Troubleshoot, solve, and communicate problems to crew and supervision to ensure quality of product.
• Assist maintenance in performing simple preventive maintenance and repair tasks such as mill adjustment, fluid checks, minor part replacement and equipment lubrication.
• Direct and assist in mill changeovers.
• Communicate and ensure quality requirements are met by mill crew.
• Maintain the offline requirements to ensure quick-change operation.
• Calibrate micrometers at start of shift and at changeovers.
• Complete all required paperwork, production records, and inventory.
• Perform duties in accordance with company safety policies and regulatory agencies.
• Keep work area clean and orderly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
