Requirements

  • Previous warehouse experience, especially in the metals industry.
  • Previous forklift experience.
  • Experience using hand-held measuring tools.
  • Computer literacy.

Responsibilities

  • Apply metal to customer orders and process material according to work order specifications.
  • Ensure processing equipment is maintained in a safe and clean condition.
  • Maintain the processing area in a clean, safe, and orderly manner.
  • Complete all required information entry accurately.
  • Operate cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment.
  • Pull, inspect, and verify product before processing.
  • Set up equipment to run material according to specifications.
  • Verify that product meets specifications and record measurements.
  • Communicate with sales representatives regarding order changes or clarifications.
  • Perform equipment preventive maintenance and general clean-up.
  • Enter/delete material identification tags as per instructions.
  • Assist in packaging material according to work instructions and work orders.
  • Maintain issued measurement equipment in working condition.
  • Operate weighing scale and record inspection measurements.
  • Identify, record, and segregate scrap and non-conforming material.
  • Provide feedback to supervision regarding machine efficiency and product quality.
  • Train others when required.
  • Assist in activities related to lean and/or quality.
