Requirements
- 1-2 years’ experience as a Machine operator in the packaging industry.
- Must be able to verbally communicate, read and write in English.
- Basic mathematics skills required.
- Must be able to take direction and work unsupervised
Nice To Haves
- Production knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and other techniques for effective manufacturing preferred.
Responsibilities
- Machine Operation & Setup: Load flat cardboard blanks into the magazine, start/stop the machine, and adjust settings for different box sizes.
- Production Monitoring: Ensure a continuous supply of erected, bottom-sealed cases to prevent downstream packing line bottlenecks.
- Quality Control: Inspect boxes to ensure they are properly sealed (glue or tape), correctly squared, and free of defects to maintain stacking strength.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Clear machine jams, clean sensors, and perform minor adjustments (e.g., checking belts/chains) to minimize downtime.
- Material Handling: Transport raw materials (corrugated stock) to the workstation using equipment like pallet jacks.
- Safety Adherence: Follow all company, safety policy.
