Requirements

  • Basic Math skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • 1 Year Machine Operating experience or successful performance as a Fisher Barton Machine Operator 1 team member
  • Proficient in all Machine Operator 2 skills, as defined on the site Training Matrix
  • Able to operate presses, mills, and auto-forming machines
  • Able to use basic math to analyze information
  • Experience with computer systems

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 3 years of Machine Operating experience

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to Fisher Barton Safety and Quality procedures and regulations and business code of ethics
  • Perform routine changeovers and troubleshooting
  • Utilize forklift to efficiently manage material handling, optimizing workflow
  • Lift and load parts
  • Ability to read blueprints to ensure precise machine setup and adherence to quality standards
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in equipment maintenance, repairs, and adjustments
  • Efficiently manage and move materials, including receiving, storing, and loading products
  • Insert blanks manually into press and perform either hot or cold form operations
  • Measure parts
  • Keep an accurate record of the quantity milled and formed
  • Inspect finished parts for Quality and Compliance
  • Package customer parts
  • Perform general maintenance and housekeeping of working areas
  • Set up for all equipment in required time, per the control plan specifications
  • Verify dimensions, type and characteristics of Raw Materials
  • Load Coil, Strip or Blanks
  • Set tension on Slack Loop
  • Adjust and operate forming press/straightener to produce parts in accordance with specifications
  • Set up milling machine
  • Perform manual mill operations
  • Replace milling heads
  • Remove and isolate Scrapped/Non-Conforming Parts
  • Perform operator maintenance (changeout lubricants) and housekeeping of working areas
  • Train Level 1 team members
