About The Position

The Machine Operator position at Viking Drill and Tool involves operating grinding machinery for the manufacturing of precision cutting tools. The role requires loading, unloading, sorting, counting, checking quality, and making minor adjustments to machinery to maintain strict tolerances. The operator will work full-time on the 1st shift and report to the Shift Facilitator, contributing to a clean and safe work environment while participating in continual improvement efforts.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Entry-level experience with micrometers.

Responsibilities

• Operate grinding machinery used in the manufacturing of precision cutting tools.
• Load and unload drills from machines.
• Make minor adjustments to controls to assure quality is maintained.
• Use measuring tools such as micrometers, rulers, and scopes to ensure quality standards are met.
• Complete paperwork for maintaining proper documentation of operations.
• Communicate the machine and quality status to Setups and Leads.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment.
• Participate in various continual improvement efforts.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
