About The Position

As a MBL Operator at Steel Technologies you will be responsible for complete operation of our cut-to-length machines. This position requires someone with the ability to read and interpret work instructions and work in a multi-tasking environment. The MBL Operator must observe and adjust the operation of both slitting and cut-to-length as part of this machine. 1st Shift Hours would be 4:30am to 3:00pm.

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and procedure manuals
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to comply with safety rules and requirements
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds

Responsibilities

• Review work instructions to determine machine adjustments and material requirements
• Operate the Multi-Blanking machine to slit-to-width and cut-to-length based on customers specifications
• Monitor condition of blanks to detect work piece defects and ensure compliance with customer requirements and production instructions
• Adjust MBL setup as needed for quality blanks
• Setup skids on the parts conveyor to ensure no disruption of production
• Remove scrap and empty hoppers as needed
• Assist maintenance to troubleshoot malfunctions or complete preventative maintenance as necessary
• Assist packager as needed to band material according to customer requirements
• Communicate non-compliance or quality problems to supervisor and/or shift lead
• Clean and maintain housekeeping of MBL area
