About The Position

The Machine Operator position is a day shift role that requires the ability to operate metal processing equipment. The operator will be responsible for ensuring that all work order specifications are met and that the machinery is functioning correctly. This role involves a variety of physical tasks and adherence to safety protocols.

Requirements

• Ability to speak and read English and comprehend drawings and machine operation instructions.
• Ability to communicate with other employees.
• Ability to operate overhead cranes and other equipment necessary to perform the job.
• Ability to read a tape measure or any other measuring device.
• Ability to interpret instructions in written and/or oral form.

Responsibilities

• Read the specifications of the work order to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Follow order filling procedure per the ISO Quality Program.
• Measure the first article piece to ensure it meets accuracy or machine and work order requirements.
• Complete all work order requirements such as heat number, part number markings, tag number, PO number, and packaging instructions.
• Observe machine operation to detect work defects or machine malfunctions.
• Report irregularities to the supervisor.
• Maintain work area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
