About The Position

This position is responsible for the basic setups and operation of conventional and special purpose, CNC machines and machining centers to fabricate parts from various materials. Operators must also ensure that parts are machined to the specifications detailed in the engineering prints, models and other related documents and/or programs. Candidate may also work closely with Programming to provide in-process troubleshooting and evaluate the quality of the machined components and/or finished product.

Responsibilities

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, part prints, process documentation, and work center guidelines.
Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
Measures, marks, and scribes’ dimensions and reference points on material or part as guides for subsequent machining as necessary
Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines as necessary to machine parts as required.
Starts and observes basic machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required
Verifies conformance of finished part to specifications, using measuring and inspection tools as necessary.
Perform routine maintenance tasks on machines as required.
Maintain a clean and organized work area and maintain all equipment, to like new appearance, according to maintenance plans and established procedures
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management.
Continue to gain six sigma knowledge and use the tools to identify and assist with continuous improvement
Ensure that safe work practices are followed and adhered to.
Perform other related duties as assigned by manager.
Ability to meet production requirements as specified by management.
Position will require overtime, weekends and holidays, as needed
1+ years of basic machining experience.
Operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
Basic math and computer skills to include email, Microsoft Office and ERP.
Properly and accurately clock in and out of work orders.
