About The Position

NOW HIRING: Millerbernd Manufacturing is looking for a Machine Operator 1 to join our Weekend shift team within the Transportation & Infrastructure (Pole) business unit. This Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, loading, and unloading various machines/ equipment to manufacture metal products in accordance with product specifications. This particular role will be operating one of the Straighteners in Big Pole

Requirements

Effective and appropriate verbal and written communication skills
Ability to set up and safely operate equipment
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Ability to perform basic shop math functions
Ability to use forklift, hoist, crane and other handling equipment
Ability to operate various power and hand tools
Ability to use various measuring devices
Ability to work under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods

Responsibilities

Proficiently operates at least one machine in the assigned area
Cross trains on other machines in assigned area
Basic understanding of the machines in assigned area
Effectively set up machines to start a production cycle
Load and feed metal stock and other materials into manual or automatic machines
Monitors gauges as required to ensure quality work
Verify end parts are consistent with blue print specifications
Accurately label all parts for routing to next operation
Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required
Escalates equipment or quality issues
Monitor the production board and internal paperwork to perform tasks in the designated sequence
Enter job data in production tracking system
Meet and maintain quality standards
Maintains area cleanliness and completed 5S checklists
Material handles for assigned area as required
Ability to work with others as part of a high-performance team
Ability to adapt to changing work priorities
Perform work at the appropriate pace to maintain quality and productivity requirements
