About The Position

NOW HIRING: Millerbernd Manufacturing is looking for a Machine Operator 1 to join our team within the Transportation & Infrastructure (Pole) business unit. This Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, loading, and unloading various machines/ equipment to manufacture metal products in accordance with product specifications.

Requirements

  • Skill of effective and appropriate verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Experience working in a manufacturing setting as a team
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Ability to perform basic shop math functions
  • Ability to set up and safely operate equipment
  • Ability to operate hoists, cranes, and other powered industrial vehicles as needed
  • Ability to operate various power and hand tools
  • Ability to use various measuring devices; tape measures, squares, and calipers
  • Ability to work under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods

Responsibilities

  • Proficiently operates at least one machine in the assigned area
  • Cross trains on other machines in assigned area
  • Basic understanding of the machines in the assigned area
  • Effectively set up machines to start a production cycle
  • Load and feed metal stock and other materials into manual or automatic machines
  • Monitors gauges as required to ensure quality work
  • Verify end parts are consistent with blue print specifications
  • Accurately label all parts for routing to next operation
  • Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required
  • Escalates equipment or quality issues
  • Monitor the production board and internal paperwork to perform tasks in the designated sequence
  • Enter job data in production tracking system
  • Meet and maintain quality standards
  • Material handles for assigned area as required
  • Perform work at the appropriate pace to maintain quality and productivity requirements
