What we do in Packing This position is responsible for safely packing aluminum extrusions for shipment to internal and external customers. Must be flexible to work the day.
Requirements
- Pack aluminum extrusions using a box knife, cardboard and tape
- Ensures quality in the process including correct documentation, verification of the part, quantities, quality, finish, and the correct length of the metal
- Operate an overhead crane
- Communicate well with peers and management
- Read written instructions and follow verbal instructions
- Multitask, prioritize and work under time constraints
- Must be a team player and willing to be trained to work in other areas as assigned
- Regular and predictable attendance, ability to safely perform tasks, and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of this job
- Stand and walk for entire shift on concrete, up to 12 hours
- Twist, bend and kneel
- Lift, push, pull or move up to 75lbs individually and 150lbs with a partner
- Requires constant reaching, handling and grasping while turning of upper body while moving and lifting
- Visual acuity to inspect product for various quality flaws, recognize metal quality, view die prints
- Proper wear of all required Personal Protective Equipment
- Work in temperatures consistent with same outdoor climate conditions of the region (Heat, humidity, etc.)
