About The Position

The Machine Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing a range of advanced fabrication equipment. This role will also oversee preventative maintenance programs, coordinate repairs, and ensure machine reliability and uptime across the facility.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in industrial or machine maintenance required (preferably in a fabrication or manufacturing environment).
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) preferred.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawings.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to read and comprehend Instructions, Correspondence, Technical Drawings and Memos.
  • The ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations.
  • The position requires regular and predictable attendance.
  • Scheduled shifts may include evening hours, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule is required.
  • This role must be performed onsite and can not be performed remotely.
  • Requires vision (near, peripheral, depth), sense of touch, and ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – respirator, safety glasses, hand protection.
  • Constantly stands, manually manipulates, lifts/carries 10 pounds or less, and pushes/pulls 12 pounds or less.
  • Frequently sits, reaches outward, lifts/carries up to 50 pounds, and pushes/pulls up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasionally walks, reaches above shoulder, squats or kneels, bends, lifts/carries up to 100 pounds, and pushes/pulls up to 40 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with PLC’s (Programmable Logic Controllers) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment including: Sheet lasers, Press brakes, Tube lasers, Tube benders, Waterjet systems, 5-axis lasers
  • Develop and maintain preventative maintenance schedules for all fabrication machinery.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors and company personnel to order parts and schedule service.
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and company standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to machine uptime and performance.
