The primary work hours for this position are 6:00am to 6:00pm, Friday through Sunday, with overtime required as needed. Where is this opportunity located? This position is located in Brookings, South Dakota i n our Facilities department. What will the work look like for me? You’ll keep Daktronics factories running smoothly and without incident. You’ll do this by: Performing scheduled preventative maintenance on automated equipment. Making emergency repairs to electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems. Training peers to perform maintenance tasks. Communicating effectively over the phone to repair equipment. Performing other duties as assigned and as needed to meet customer expectations. Because you’ll bring a unique perspective to maintenance, you’ll impact operational excellence by: Evaluating and improving preventative maintenance programs. Operating automated equipment. Inputting details into work orders on work performed and materials consumed. Contributing to discussions regarding new equipment purchases, processes, and materials. Maintaining records of maintenance procedures and parts. What are the pay and perks? The typical hiring range for this position is $31.00 to $36.00 per hour based on the location of South Dakota. This includes both base pay and an applicable shift increment.  The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including relevant education, experiences, location, and applicable local legislation. Requirements

  • Two-year Associate degree in Electrical, Robotics, Mechatronics, Diesel Mechanics, Energy Technology, or a similar technical field is required.
  • Demonstrated ability in problem solving and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to follow work plans and prioritize work orders, escalating issues when needed.
  • Regularly and reliably work the scheduled hours, including scheduled overtime.
  • Consistently complete quality work in a timely manner.
  • Good communication skills, including technical writing.
  • Willingness to learn and capable of learning quickly.
  • Willingness to receive feedback and make changes.
  • Ability to successfully participate as a member of a team and interact with a variety of personnel in a positive, professional manner.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision, effectively exercising discretion and independent judgment.
  • Wear all proper protective equipment as required in work area in accordance with Daktronics Safety Policy and OSHA standards. Items may include safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, hearing protection, electrostatic discharge wear, and others as determined necessary by Daktronics Risk and Safety Department. You will be provided the PPE for the required areas. Pulmonary function tests for use of respirator may be required.
  • Work in an environment with these types of smells: paint, solvent, and solder.
  • Move materials weighing up to 75 lbs.
  • Remain in a stationary position for the full shift with planned breaks.
  • Work from heights, including working from ladders and platforms.
  • Have full range of motion (including but not limited to bending and lifting).
  • Reach in all directions (up, down, side-to-side, and diagonal reaching), including awkward positions.
  • Maintain steady hand/eye coordination.
  • Identify wire and paint colors.
  • Read fine print.
  • Ability to travel by air and ground.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to meet and maintain Daktronics Qualified Driver status. Motor vehicle records will be checked.
  • Fluent in English, written and verbal.
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
