Requirements

  • High School diploma required
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience required
  • Vocational training or equivalent experience preferred
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to read and understand equipment manuals, work orders, schematics, and blueprints
  • Ability to use a personal computer and various software such as SAP MII
  • Ability to read and comprehend schematics, multi-meter & ammeter utilization, 3 phase & single phase motor control, PLC & ladder logic programming
  • Soldering, mechanical, power tool usage capability, welding (Arc and/or TIG), pipe fitting, soldering/threading, power transmission applications knowledge
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with plant personnel, supervisors, and managers
  • Working knowledge and skills to perform a defined set of analytical/scientific methods or operational processes
  • Experience and skills to complete assigned work within own area of expertise
  • Must have completed training for, and is certified or pursuing certification as a State Journeyman in electrical or machine maintenance or has 2-5 years of documented maintenance repair experience in a manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

  • Performs specialized technical tasks required to support operations (e.g., IT development, research support, skilled trade)
  • Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical)
  • Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve availability, capability, and yield
  • Performs equipment failure analyses (including preventive and unscheduled maintenance)
  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problems
  • Prepares technical reports to document equipment modifications and maintenance procedures
  • Prepares for new/relocated equipment installations by sizing, wiring, piping, ventilation, etc.
  • Receives, rigs, unloads, transports, installs, assembles, troubleshoots, and fine-tunes new/relocated equipment
  • Troubleshoots and performs necessary repairs on existing equipment
  • Assists engineers in identifying worn or damaged parts needed for repairs
  • Interfaces with and assists outside contractors, OEMs, and Technology Process Support groups
  • Safely handles hazardous materials and hazardous wastes
  • Interfaces with in-plant Computerized Machine Maintenance System to show status of work and time spent on job
