About The Position

APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Research and development work to design, implement, benchmark and optimize Machine Learning algorithms for augmented reality applications in the field of computer vision. Work on cutting-edge technology and develop algorithms that enable high-quality user experience across a range of tentpole use cases and applications. Collaborate with HW engineers (cameras, silicon, electrical engineering, product design) and other technology development software teams (computer graphics, video engineering, data generation/annotation, drivers/OS). Prototype novel scene understanding algorithms beyond the state of the art and/or by optimizing the performance of real-time algorithms running on Apple silicon. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $187,741 - $220,900/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Requirements

• Master’s Degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Utilizing python to set up end to end machine learning pipelines
• Utilizing PyTorch to train, validate and test machine learning models
• Utilizing frameworks including Hugging Face, VLLM for prototyping and large-scale inferencing of transformer models
• Using fundamental algorithms including linear regression, logistic regression, SVMs, deep neural networks, convolutional neural networks, transformers to develop machine learning algorithms
• Using image processing and computer vision skills to work with 2D and 3D scene to understand problems including semantic segmentation, object detection, tracking
• Using deep learning skills to work with novel vision encoders including CLIP and interfacing with large language models
• Utilizing C/C++ coding skills for software integration of prototyped algorithms
