About The Position

Join the Frontier Data Research team to explore advanced reasoning models and develop innovative supervision methods. This internship focuses on enhancing the reasoning capabilities of large language models through novel data formats, supervision techniques, and post-training algorithms. Candidates with expertise in math, software engineering, biology, physics, and chemistry are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a BS/MS/PhD Program focusing on Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing, or Computer Vision with a graduation date in Fall 2025 or Spring 2026.
• Prior work experience or research publications on LLMs, reasoning, NLP, agents, alignment, or a related field.
• Experience training neural networks in Python.
• Fluency in spoken and written English.
• Availability for a Summer 2025 internship starting in May/June.

Nice To Haves

• Previous internship experience involving LLMs, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing, Alignment, or Agents.
• Research experience, including internships, full-time roles, or lab work.
• Publications in top-tier ML conferences such as NeurIPS, ICLR, CVPR, ICML, COLM, etc., or contributions to open-source projects.
• Strong coding skills demonstrated through open-source projects.

Responsibilities

• Research and develop new methods for training models on complex reasoning problems requiring long chains of thought.
• Create scalable oversight protocols for human quality control of reasoning chains.
• Investigate strategies to refine data pipelines for model improvement.
• Study the boundaries of reasoning model generalization to inform data-driven advancements.
• Develop new benchmarks or evaluation methods for assessing advanced reasoning capabilities.
