Summary We are looking for a talented Machine Learning Intern to join AI/Ml team and contribute to various projects focused on applying machine learning to solve real-world problems. This internship offers hands-on experience in developing, testing, and deploying machine learning models, as well as exposure to best practices in the industry.

Requirements

  • Educational Background: Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, with familiarity in machine learning libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn. Experience with data manipulation tools (e.g., Pandas, NumPy). Understanding of basic machine learning concepts, including supervised and unsupervised learning, regression, classification, and clustering.
  • This position is specifically designed for Northeastern University students as part of the university's cooperative education (Co-op) program. Candidates must be enrolled at Northeastern University and eligible to participate in the official Co-op program for the designated term.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in gathering, cleaning, and preparing data for model training and evaluation.
  • Work with ML and MLOps engineers and data scientists to develop and fine-tune machine learning and large language models.
  • Conduct experiments to test different models and approaches, documenting results and identifying the most effective methods.
  • Use metrics and evaluation techniques to assess model performance, and suggest improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Create detailed documentation of workflows, models, and findings to ensure reproducibility and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Work closely with other team members in engineering, and product development to understand project requirements and deliver solutions that meet business objectives.
  • Write web services to enable use of the models in production software.
