About The Position
Howmet Aerospace is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join our Research and Development group. This role is pivotal in supporting our casting, alloy, core, and rings facilities through the application of advanced machine learning techniques. The successful candidate will work closely within a cross-functional team environment, contributing to the development and optimization of machine learning algorithms tailored for Howmet products across all business sectors. In this position, you will be responsible for evaluating, developing, and testing Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning applications and solutions. You will construct and manipulate large datasets using various tools such as Python, R, SAS, SQL, Minitab, and PowerBI. Your work will involve extracting multi-factor and complex interactions from these datasets to drive improvements in manufacturing processes. Additionally, you will be tasked with solving operational, quality, and engineering problems by leveraging big data and image sets. A key aspect of this role is identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and deploying machine learning tools to enhance operational efficiency. You will also play a crucial role in fostering a data-driven culture within the organization by expanding the applications of machine learning and providing training to internal teams. Interacting with internal customers will be essential as you drive validation trials, implement process improvements, and integrate machine learning into current production workflows.
