About The Position

GenCorr Packaging, an affiliate of Schwarz Partners, is currently seeking a Machine (Flexographic) Press Operator to support our Alsip, IL corrugated manufacturing facility. The Flexographic Press Operator – 2nd shift (3:00pm-11:30pm) has responsibility for handling the production of pre-printed material orders per job specifications and details from set up to completion. This role leads any other crew on the machine. Specific equipment knowledge and experience are a must. The Operator will be accountable for running orders safely and efficiently. The Royal Group’s mission is to provide value-added solutions to the most demanding customers.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma (or GED) or higher.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience on same or like machine.
  • Experience with specific machine set up, operation and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of various paperboard stocks, board grade combinations, and printing processes.
  • Strong team player; Quality and Safety conscious leader.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work flexible hours or extended hours.
  • Strong work ethic with emphasis on safety.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and be accountable for self and machine crew from set up and to completion of orders.
  • Run orders according to job specifications and details.
  • Execute orders safely, timely and efficiently.
  • Troubleshoot machine or job as needed.
  • Train and assist Assistant Operators and Machine Helpers with job duties.
  • Perform minor repairs as needed on machine, dies or plates.
  • Make impression and manual adjustments throughout the machine.
  • Perform quality checks.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on press.
  • Perform machine cleanup daily, weekly, and monthly.
  • Participate in regular safety meetings and training, perform lockout/tagout procedures as needed.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and timely.
  • Minimize waste, maximize production.
  • Keep appropriate management informed of problems or situations that may affect the performance of the plant.
  • Meet with customers, suppliers, and vendors as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations, including federal and/or state required environmental systems, OSHA Safety and Health rules, and standard operating procedures.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
