Machine Engineer (Waterjet, Fiber Laser, Bandsaw)

NOX METALSLos Angeles, CA
11dOnsite

About The Position

Nox Metals is building the fastest metals processing factories in America. Software and automation, not manual labor and paperwork. We're opening a new multi-material facility in LA and need someone to own the machines. You're the first machine engineer at this facility. You will commission the equipment, build the production floor, and run cuts across aluminum, steel, and specialty alloys. You've done this before. You've built a shop, set up machines, dialed them in, and kept them running. We need that person again, except this time you have equity and a software team building tools around you. You'll work directly with our factory software engineer to connect machine operations to the software layer that runs scheduling, tracking, and automation.

Requirements

  • You've built or helped build a shop before. Not just operated in one.
  • Hands-on experience across waterjet, fiber laser, and bandsaw systems
  • You've cut aluminum, carbon steel, stainless, and specialty alloys
  • You can read drawings, program machines, and fix what breaks
  • You don't wait for instructions. You see what needs to happen and you do it.

Responsibilities

  • Commission and set up waterjet, fiber laser, and bandsaw systems from scratch
  • Run production cuts and continuously optimize programs, feeds, speeds, and fixturing
  • Maintain and troubleshoot equipment. Downtime is your enemy.
  • Build SOPs for a multi-machine, multi-material floor
  • Feed real machine data and operator insight back to the software team
  • Improve throughput, reduce waste, improve cut quality. Relentlessly.

Benefits

  • First machine engineer at a new facility. You're building it.
  • Equity role. You own what you build.
  • Direct founder access. No layers.
  • Your machines, your floor, your output.
