The Machine CNC Operator (1st shift) operates machines that finish the ends of pipes. These products are then sent to the next phases of the process. The operator is responsible for producing a quality product. The machines must be set properly for the right diameter and length of pipe. The Operator is responsible for loading the machines with pieces of pipe that have been cut to a specified length per the production schedule (cut blanks). The operator may be responsible for running multiple machines. The operator maintains a clean and safe machine and work area. The operator must also perform required maintenance checks. All operators are responsible for keeping accurate production records, which are recorded in the computer planning system. The operator is responsible for meeting established production standards.
