Position Summary: Xylem is looking for Machine Builders to join our Holland, MI team! This position helps to with the final assembly of our products. We have a variety of products made in the Holland facility and this role helps to put them all together.

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months’ relevant experience required.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints (if applicable)
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools
  • High school diploma or GED

Nice To Haves

  • Mechanical, electrical and pneumatic experience a PLUS
  • Ability to troubleshoot and rebuild filter presses highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Follows all policies and guidelines regarding workplace safety and product quality.
  • Successfully completes all site-specific training regarding safety and quality.
  • Receives components or items for assembly and/or test in programmed sequence
  • Assembles mechanical or electrical components by means of sensitive hand and equipment coordination
  • Assembles all variations of in-house standard products
  • Follows assembly/test instructions, e.g. color code, pvc solvent welding and thread taping.
  • Uses simple hand or power tools along with uncomplicated jigs and fixtures
  • Enter work hours in ERP system (Currently SAP), if applicable to site
  • Completes required documentation relative to production and quality
  • Drives continuous improvement process and conducts daily housekeeping/5S audits to ensure continuous improvement activities.
  • May read and interpret blueprints (product specific)
  • Maintains equipment and area in a clean safe condition
  • Will plumb variations of standard and custom products
  • Occasionally assist with in house plumbing mechanical work
  • Uses simple hand or power tools along with complicated jigs and fixtures
  • Update and redline drawings as required
