About The Position

As a Machine Builder at Jessup Systems, a division of Koch Finishing Systems, you will play a key role in constructing and assembling complex automated finishing equipment. This role is highly hands-on, technical, and essential to delivering the quality systems our customers depend on.

Requirements

  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (exposure to welding, grinding, painting, soldering)
  • Proficiency with custom welding and industrial spray painting
  • Knowledge of automated finishing systems, plumbing, fittings, and electrical components
  • Ability to operate equipment such as drill press, lathe, plasma cutter, metal shaping and bending machines, and MIG/TIG welding tools
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and welding specifications
  • Understanding of quality standards; able to inspect welds and parts for accuracy
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Solid math, reading, writing, and communication abilities

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift operation experience (Hi-Lo) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Act as a key contributor in the assembly of automated finishing systems using blueprints, engineering memos, sketches, and technical specifications
  • Fit and assemble mechanical components using hand and power tools
  • Verify conformance of parts using measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, gauges, micrometers)
  • Lay out hole locations and drill/tap components for assembly
  • Align, bolt, screw, or weld parts using hand tools and welding equipment
  • Install wiring and electrical components per specifications
  • Remove imperfections and prep parts using chisels, scrapers, grinders, and other tools
  • Verify alignment and tolerances of moving components
  • Perform test operations and adjustments to ensure system readiness
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Assist with troubleshooting, rebuild, or repair work as needed
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives using H3 Lean principles
  • Other duties as assigned
