ABCO Automation Inc is seeking a mid to senior level Machine Builder responsible for fitting and assembling components according to various technical documents. The role involves constructing, rebuilding, and repairing machines, requiring proficiency in using computers, precision instruments, and various tools.

  • Fit and assemble components according to assembly blueprints, manuals, engineering memos, and sketches.
  • Construct, rebuild, and repair machines.
  • Communicate with machine designers during project conceptualization and development.
  • Work directly with engineering to ensure a smooth assembly process.
  • Read and interpret assembly blueprints, Solidworks models, CAD drawings, or specifications manuals.
  • Accurately measure and layout floor plans.
  • Verify conformance of components to the bill of material.
  • Layout, drill, ream, tap, or cut parts for assembly as needed.
  • Verify conformance of parts using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges, or micrometers.
  • Position or align components for assembly, manually or using hoists or lifts.
  • Read and interpret electrical and pneumatic schematics.
  • Plumb pneumatic circuits and perform low voltage system I/O systems checks.
  • Inspect and test assemblies for conformance to specifications.
  • Troubleshoot basic mechanical and electrical problems on mechanical sub-assemblies and the main machine assembly.
  • Lead the teardown and ship prep process for assigned projects.
  • Communicate with customers as needed.
  • Safely complete assigned tasks using proper methods and safety equipment.
  • Mentor apprentices and share knowledge.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2 year Associates / Technical Degree preferred.
  • Five (5) years related experience in an associated field required.
  • Blueprint reading: 5 years required.
  • Mechanical work: 5 years required.
  • Experience in Industrial Maintenance or Industrial Mechanics.
