The Testing Engineering position researches, plans, designs and develops, and implements/installs mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. This person will work to maintain a wide range of laboratory machinery where they will work on machine automation, PLC modification and programming, control systems design and integration and more. Machine design and build experience in the rotating equipment and/or automation arena would be a plus!

  • Ensure machines are functional with a target of 80% uptime.
  • Be familiar with mechanical and electrical components and functionality of assigned machines.
  • Be familiar with controls logic, components and functionality of assigned machines (Allen Bradley PLCs preferred).
  • Contributes to the planning, design development and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.
  • Work with other departments and operations to accommodate and execute 'special' testing.
  • Works on mechanical problems of limited scope and contributes on projects or processes while receiving detailed instructions from higher level professionals.
  • Know componentry and functionality of channels and processing components from acquisition point to data upload.
  • Be familiar with and understand ISO 9001/IATF16949/ISO17025 and other accreditations/cert's.
  • Develop MU analysis for assigned machines.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement, Lean manufacturing and waste elimination activities.
  • Work with operations to train technicians when new methods are implemented.
  • Improves Process Capability through reduction of in process variation and process standardization.
  • Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to deliver optimum quality at lowest possible cost.
  • Work with management to determine capital mid-term plan and priority for projects.
  • Create project charters based on assignments.
  • Adhere to all Bridgestone safety policies and actively engage with IIP activities.
  • Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent work experience.
  • Machine design and build experience in the rotating equipment and/or automation arena.
