Machine Assistant Operator

The Machine Assistant Operator position is a critical role within a newly constructed paper converting manufacturing facility located in De Pere, WI. This full-time, temp-to-hire position offers a competitive pay rate ranging from $19 to $20 per hour, depending on the level of experience. The work schedule follows a 2-2-3 rotating shift pattern, where employees will work 12-hour shifts, alternating between day and night shifts. The day shift runs from 6 AM to 6 PM, while the night shift operates from 6 PM to 6 AM. As a Machine Assistant Operator, the primary responsibility is to assist the Machine Operator in setting up and operating various machines that perform functions such as rewinding, folding, sawing, banding, wrapping, cartoning, boxing, and stacking of paper goods. Operators will need to examine completed work to verify conformance to work orders and quality standards, making necessary adjustments to machinery as required. This includes starting machines, regulating tension, synchronizing speeds, and adjusting parameters to meet product specifications. The role also involves hands-on tasks such as installing machine change parts, measuring and setting perforation blades, threading paper through various machine components, and maintaining the machines by disassembling and repairing them as needed. Operators are expected to meet daily production standards and quality checklists, accurately complete production reports, and provide training to team members. Leadership skills are essential, as the operator may need to direct crew members and ensure adherence to safe work practices. Maintaining a clean and organized work area while following lean initiatives is also a key aspect of this position.
