Requirements

  • Associate's degree
  • 3+ years relevant experience
  • Experience with macOS
  • DOD IAT Level II Certification is required.
  • Secret clearance required
  • Basic knowledge of macOS and iOS administration, including system configuration, native security features, and device lifecycle processes
  • Working knowledge of DoD cybersecurity requirements, including DISA STIGs, RMF concepts, and vulnerability management procedures
  • Familiarity with managing Apple devices using MDM platforms such as JAMF, Intune, or Workspace ONE
  • Ability to apply and verify STIG-compliant settings for macOS and iOS systems under established guidance
  • Basic understanding of endpoint security controls, including certificates, VPN configuration, antivirus/EDR tools, and compliance policies
  • Ability to troubleshoot Tier I/II macOS and iOS issues related to operating system functionality, applications, user authentication, and network connectivity
  • Familiarity with identity and authentication integration, including Active Directory and CAC/PIV or certificate-based authentication
  • Basic scripting knowledge (e.g., Bash or similar) to support automation and configuration consistency
  • Ability to review vulnerability scan results and assist with remediation efforts based on STIG findings, ACAS results, and audit requirements
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical issues and coordinate with cybersecurity, network, and operations teams while escalating complex matters appropriately
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and lead through change.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier I/II support for macOS laptops, iPhones, and Apple client devices within a DoD environment.
  • Assist senior engineers with the configuration and administration of enterprise macOS and iOS devices using approved Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions.
  • Support compliance efforts by ensuring Apple endpoints adhere to DoD security standards, including DISA STIGs and RMF requirements.
  • Follow established macOS and iOS baseline configurations and imaging standards to deploy and maintain devices.
  • Perform routine system updates, patching, and basic vulnerability remediation for Apple devices in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Assist with ACAS scan remediation, security audits, and POA&M-related activities for macOS and iOS systems.
  • Support the integration of Apple devices with enterprise services such as Active Directory, identity management platforms, certificate services, VPN, and network access controls.
  • Execute device lifecycle activities including provisioning, deployment, inventory tracking, maintenance, upgrades, and decommissioning.
  • Verify and maintain endpoint security controls such as disk encryption, antivirus/EDR, and device compliance configurations.
  • Utilize existing scripts and automation tools to support configuration management and routine system maintenance tasks.
  • Provide Tier I/II troubleshooting for macOS and iOS hardware, software, and connectivity issues, escalating complex problems to senior engineers as needed.
  • Create and update technical documentation, knowledge base articles, and SOPs related to Apple platform support.
  • Coordinate with cybersecurity, network, and systems engineering teams to resolve endpoint-related issues and ensure operational continuity.
  • Participate in change management processes, scheduled maintenance windows, and daily operational support activities.
  • Develop technical skills and remain current on Apple technologies and DoD security requirements to effectively support mission operations.
