Overview Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking a Mac Engineering Specialist. The candidate will assist in enhancing the overall functionality of software by improving software architecture, supporting existing software, and engineering hardware components that optimize various technologies. This role involves providing technical support to clients, testing applications, maintaining hardware, and responding to customer requests. The Engineer will also analyze complex system requirements, design software tools and subsystems, and manage software development and support processes.

  • Test macOS applications, OS compatibility, and Office 365 integrations.
  • Provide technical expertise for macOS upgrades across enterprise-level devices, including both desktops and laptops.
  • Provide technical expertise for Jamf Pro or Jamf Cloud to manage and deploy macOS devices.
  • Document processes and develop self-service instructions that are understandable by customers.
  • Work closely with Mac Operations teams; provide tier 3 support for macOS related issues.
  • Assist in the management and configuration of Enterprise MDM platforms (i.e. Jamf, Microsoft Intune) with guidance from other engineers.
  • Work with various SQL Databases, Oracle, Microsoft BI, Excel and other tools to identify metric trends, investigate/report on these trends, then assist in developing innovative performance solutions and optimize service deliver

  • BS/BA in relevant discipline plus a minimum 1 years, or more, of directly related experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties. Related experience may be substituted for relevant education and vice vers
  • Ability to obtain & maintain a U.S. Dept. of Energy Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must have a working knowledge of PC operations which include hardware, network settings, operating system, & MS Office applications.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in IT Support.
  • Intermediate-to-advanced MS productivity suite & collaborative applications expertise (e.g. Office, Access/SQL, Visio, SharePoint, etc.).
  • Intermediate-to-advanced desktop support & trouble shooting skills for macOS (unclassified support).
  • Ability to type 35 WPM.
  • 3 years experience in the current customer environment.
  • Ability to pass Jamf 100 and/or Jamf 200 certification.
  • Experience with ServiceNow.
  • Experience with KCS methodology.
  • Any additional requirements determined by the Service Manager.
  • Ability to type 50+ WP
  • Telecommuting, or hybrid work, will be considered on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the service manager
