About The Position

The Maître D' serves as the ambassador of hospitality at Spruzzo Rooftop Lounge, setting the tone for elevated guest experiences from arrival through departure. This leader oversees host operations and the entire front-of-house flow, ensuring each interaction embodies polished service, authenticity, and the relaxed sophistication that defines The Ben Hotel. Collaborating closely with Food & Beverage leadership and supporting cross-venue experiences with Proper Grit, the Maître D' delivers operational excellence, team mentorship, and an unforgettable sense of place.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in a luxury, fine-dining, or rooftop venue.
  • Strong understanding of elevated service, guest recognition, and event pacing.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with POS and reservation systems (MICROS, Toast, OpenTable, Resy).
  • Polished presence and professional demeanor reflecting The Ben's brand.
  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the face of Spruzzo, warmly welcoming guests and curating memorable, personalized experiences.
  • Manage reservations, table assignments, and pacing through OpenTable/Resy to optimize flow and satisfaction.
  • Maintain ambiance and presentation - music, lighting, and décor - aligned with Spruzzo's Mediterranean luxury aesthetic.
  • Recognize returning guests and VIPs, ensuring genuine, thoughtful engagement.
  • Resolve guest concerns with discretion and follow-through that reinforces confidence in The Ben's brand.
  • Lead, train, and inspire the host and FOH teams to deliver elevated, intuitive hospitality.
  • Conduct daily briefings with F&B leadership to review occupancy, events, and VIP priorities.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, respect, and empowerment consistent with Concord's "Associate First" philosophy.
  • Partner with culinary and beverage leaders to ensure seamless communication across all service touchpoints.
  • Oversee host-stand procedures, seating charts, and service pacing for high-volume rooftop operations.
  • Ensure opening, mid-shift, and closing checklists are executed with precision and brand consistency.
  • Support private events, live-music evenings, and VIP activations, coordinating details with leadership and culinary teams.
  • Collaborate with Proper Grit on joint events or cross-venue experiences enhancing The Ben's culinary identity.
  • Uphold The Ben Hotel and Marriott Autograph Collection service standards.
  • Contribute to revenue growth through strategic guest engagement and upselling opportunities.
  • Provide feedback on guest sentiment and operational improvement during weekly F&B meetings.
  • Embody the luxury, creativity, and storytelling that define The Ben's reputation.
